Hard Wearing Upholstery Fabric

At Loome we specialise in supplying hard wearing upholstery fabric across the UK. Most of our fabrics are either hard wearing (General Domestic), very hard wearing (Heavy Duty), or ultra hard wearing (Commerical Grade).

Our Didsbury, Iona, Oberon and Tabley collections are all rated as Heavy Duty and are, therefore, very hard wearing.

General Domestic (15,000 to 25,000 rubs on the Martindale Abrasion Test). These fabrics are fine on the main furniture in the house and for everyday use. However where the level of use will be very high we recommend selecting a heavy duty fabric

Heavy Duty (25,000 to 30,000 rubs on the Martindale Abrasion Test)

Heavy duty fabrics are suitable for the main furniture in the house that will be subjected to high levels of everyday use. They are also suitable for motion furniture (i.e. recliners) and light commercial applications.

Commercial Grade (30,000 plus) These fabrics are appropriate for heavy duty commercial and domestic use.

In the UK all upholstery fabric sold must comply to all relevant British Standards which govern every aspect of fabric performance including durability. All of our fabrics are tested for durability before we include them in our collections and you can rest assured that all our fabric is as tough as old boots.
