William Morris Designs Saint James Damask Green Velvet
Description
A design of pinks, roses and acanthus leaves created by William Morris in 1881 for the Blue Room at St James' Palace - the home of Kings and Queens of England for over 300 years. This design was also used for the Drawing room at Stanmore Hall in 1888. Registered August 1881. Initially woven as a jacquard by J.O Nicholson, later hand-woven at Merton Abbey. Dyed on a high quality, durable chenille velvet suitable for curtains, furnishings and domestic and contract upholstery. Also available as a cotton linen print.
