Guinevere MedievalRoyal Standard of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Velvet
Description This version of the Royal Standard was approved by the late Queen Elizabeth II in July 1957. The harp is a winged-female, but the lower half of the forepillar is the same as that usually seen on the Gaelic harp, rather than the elaborate swirls of the traditional winged-female harp found on earlier versions of the Royal Standard. The tail of the Scottish lion is simplified, and four additional flowers have been added to a widened tressure. The already elongated English lions are also stretched further than earlier versions.
