Fabrics for Trains

The specification of fabrics for use in railway transportation is a specialist area, requiring compliance with numerous UK and EU legal standards. These include

BS 6853 - Code of practice for UK fire precautions in the design and construction of passenger carrying trains

DIN 5510-2 - Standard for German classification of materials fire behaviour
NF F 16-101 - Standard for French selection of materials for railway rolling stock
U.S. Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements.
UIC 564-2 - Regulations relating to fire safety in passenger carrying railway vehicles or assimilated vehicles used on International services.

Train Rail Upholstery Fabric

At Loome we can provide upholstery fabrics for use in railway stock construction or refurbishment. These include heavy moquette and velvets, as well as jaquard weaves. We can also provide bespoke design, with a minimum overall quantity of 400 linear metres.
