Arts and CraftsHerbert Percy Horne Trumpeting Angels (Praise of the Soul) Dyed Velvet Chenille
Description Herbert Percy Horne (1864-1911) was an architect, designer and writer apprenticed to Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo and a member of the Century Guild which designed decorative arts, including textiles and upholstered furniture. This wonderful Arts and Crafts design, dated from 1883, was originally block printed for the Century Guild by the textile company Simpson & Godlee, and probably sold through the Bond Street shop of Wilkinson & Sons.
